Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a few of the most common questions about building a home with Capital Homes.

What energy-efficient features come standard in Capital Homes homes?

Capital Homes includes energy-efficient insulation, low-E windows, efficient HVAC systems, and other features designed to enhance comfort and help reduce monthly utility costs.

Does Capital Homes build homes outside of its current communities?

At this time, Capital Homes builds exclusively within its established communities. This allows us to maintain quality control, ensure efficient timelines, and provide the best pricing and warranty coverage.

Does Capital Homes allow real estate investors to purchase homes?

Yes, investors are welcome in many Capital Homes communities. Availability and guidelines can vary by community, so your New Home Specialist can confirm investor eligibility for the home you’re interested in.

What incentives does Capital Homes offer, and how can they be used?

At Capital Homes we don’t typically have flashy ads promoting our latest, greatest “deals”? Is this because we don’t offer incentives? No! In fact, we have incentives on every home we build catered to your needs. For example, you can use it for closing costs assistance, interest-rate, or Design Studio credits. Your New Home Specialist will explain current incentives and help you apply them in a way that best fits your needs — whether that’s lowering monthly payments, reducing upfront costs, or adding personalized upgrades.

Can buyers bring in their own contractors during the build process?

Outside contractors are not permitted during construction, as they can disrupt workflow and affect warranty coverage. Our team is happy to discuss approved options and upgrades within our established process.

Can I walk through my home while it is under construction?

Yes — walkthroughs are available by appointment. For safety reasons, a member of our construction team will guide you through the home during key stages of the build.

How often will I receive updates on my home’s construction progress?

You’ll receive updates throughout the build via your Capital Homes app. This includes photos, milestone updates, and next steps. Our goal is to ensure you always know exactly where your home is in the construction process.

Can I make changes to the floor plan after construction has started?

Your Design Studio appointments are your opportunity to personalize finishes and materials before construction begins. Once your second Design Studio appointment is complete, materials are ordered to keep your build on schedule and maintain pricing value. For this reason, changes are not permitted after construction has started.

How long does it take to build a new construction home with Capital Homes from start to finish?

Most Capital Homes builds take approximately six to seven months to complete. After signing your contract, you are given a closing date. Weather conditions and material availability can occasionally impact timelines, but our team provides regular updates throughout the process so you’re never left guessing.

“We love Stone Villa so much that we have been recruiting all our friends to move to the community. Every house that goes up for sale – we scope it out and recruit our buddies to come live here. If that doesn’t say something… we don’t know what will!”

A new home, a retirement community and peace of mind knowing we had a community of folks just like us sounded like a little slice of heaven. It has been 3 years now and we are settled into our daily routine. Giggling on our front porch, cooking our favorite foods, putting together puzzles and enjoying the simple things in life.”
