4 Common Questions on Home Prices
December 14, 2021
When considering a new home, the first thing you have to work out is the financials. Can you afford a new home? Different builders calculate costs in different ways, so it can be difficult to get an accurate estimation. We're here to help answer some frequently asked questions and help you get started!
1. Is the cost of the lot included in the price?
If you're looking at Capital Homes, the answer is YES! We always include the price of the lot in our home prices, so you won't be surprised by a bigger base price than what you see online. Not all builders price this way, though, so you do need to ask if you're looking at other builders.
2. What is included in standard pricing, and what is considered an upgrade?
This varies quite a bit from builder to builder, so you'll want to get a full list of standard features from any builder, and ask detailed questions about what is included. At Capital Homes, our homes are Built to a Higher Standard. This means that we've opted to include features as standard that we would absolutely want for our own homes or for the home of any loved one. We created our Capital Standard package to include:
- Granite countertops
- Full backsplash
- Whirlpool appliances
- Lennox heat/air
- Stainless roller bearing drawer glides
- Full guttering
- Post-tension slabs
- Covered rear patios
- Window sills
- Ceiling fan
- Coach lights
- Finished garages with openers
Got questions about specific features? Send us a note and we will get you an answer!
3. How much is required to get started?
A deposit (starting at just $1,000) is all it takes to start your build with Capital Homes, and you never have to worry about a building loan. When you build with us, you'll have the same range of financing options as you world buying an older, existing home.
4. What does home financing look like?
If you're a first-time home buyer, the financing process can look intimidating. We break it down into 6 easy steps to help you understand what to expect. Give us a call at any time to talk to a team member with extensive experience in lending. If you'd like, we can get you in touch with one of our preferred lenders that can walk you through every step of the way.

"We love Stone Villa so much that we have been recruiting all our friends to move to the community. Every house that goes up for sale - we scope it out and recruit our buddies to come live here. If that doesn't say something... we don't know what will!"
